inside and out
Rain patters on leaves,
precluding recent sunlight
scant seconds before.
Weather is so changeable
outside us, also within.
Then I am at home,
hearing our electric fan.
I prefer raindrops,
rhythm’s echoes in my ears.
Such current is implicit.
Now I am sleeping,
hearken to my inner streams,
raindrops and whirring.
Funny creatures in and out,
as we listen to silence.
