Omphalos a word absurd
with too much contemplation,
dubious navigation, navel
battles, ins and outs,
convex, concave
insights that can
make mystics rave,
the bottoms of which
yield only lint
interpreted by dint of
common, uncommon,
sense, incense, inspires
debate, clarity can not help
but wait for Ovates, Druids,
to further obfuscate,
inextricable trait.
Searching for truth, inner,
outer, in between a
time-suck wasted, as
turkeys such as us
are basted with
own juices.
Gravied gravid truths poured
over realizations, and yum,
the pope’s nose so delicious,
(too heretical that is for
those give credence to
transubstantiation.)
Meat falls off the bones
of rationalizations
by civilizations,
no hesitations.
Give up debate
to salivate o’er
fantasies and magic.
Don’t take it all
so seriously, it is
not all that tragic.
Is it time to drop
the loosey-goosey rhyme,
the enemy of reason?
Don’t work your brains
into such lather; hard to
stop once one is started.

Sparks jump rails of neurons. Axons don’t dendrite, like a clutch not quite engaging. So what am I saying? Is there some point? Downshifting handy when brakes let go…
Sometimes there is no point; the riff has its own raison d’etre. When we plod on in normal sentences, skipping stone suddenly sinks through surface tension…
connections, connections, connections…universal fabric holds our would-be universe together…so many connections, strands get tangled…no telling where unraveling ends,
taking weave of our senses. Is this making sense? See, it’s all connected, zillions, zillions points of contact, try to follow sequence lest the snarly-arls get you…
How do we tell where meaning begins and chaos ends it, when they interface so beautifully together? Sometimes one must let go of knowing to allow meaning to fall into place…
Yeah, I know. Or not. I don’t understand it either, so can’t help yearning for learning and earning…damn! There I go again!

Help... my good friend Roy is being held captive by a giant THESAURUS! I don't know WHY.... but the verse works for me!!!!!
Thanks for sharing this ekphrastic poem, the image is intriguing, agree with the connections that seem infinite and confounding, and you have don't have to apologize for rhyming, I think rhyming is sublime. Good work Roy!! Bob
